Traffic

Hi,
I am trying to create a 'real' part of a city in Panthera with other traffic that obeys the high way code and interacts with the car that is being driven.
I've successfully created some splines for a simple route using TrackEd. However, I want to scale it up!
Does anyone have any ideas about how I can create a representative level of traffic without creating each run individually? Can anyone point me to any documentation that will allow me to integrate with Vissim for example?
Thanks

Hi Pete,
The full version of Panthera currently has support for some traffic packages like Vissim, VTD. The german DLR has a free and open traffic generator called SUMO, you could look into that and see if you are able to link it to Panthera Free. Best way to do this is using the available Lua based scripting engine in Panthera Free.

Hi,
I've been having some limited success with getting some realistic traffic. However, I still am having a few issues. In particular:
- I can't get the cars to 'warp' to their start position. I've tried pressing F9 to get the command line and type "car warp 0 1" to get car0 to goto waypoint1, but nothing happens! any suggestions on what I am doing wrong?
Also is there any way I can get a car to run from waypoint A to Z and then regenerate at waypoint A without having to 'physically' drive back there?
Cheers
Pete.

Hi Pete,
Can you share some more details of your traffic implementation?
Panthera itself has no traffic engine, but as mentioned before the pro version has support for some third party traffic packages. In that case, these packages control the positions of these traffic cars so you should fix the warping there and not in Panthera.
Cheers,

Thanks JVD,
I have been routing the traffic using the waypoints in TrackEd.
Ideally, I would like the vehicles to follow the waypoints from A to B then 'warp' back to A
If possible I would also like to randomly generate vehicles from my library instead of hardcoding the particular vehicle type.
Cheers, Pete.
